Creating media folders and slideshows
NOTE: You have to be logged into the dashboard to continue this step.
Creating media folders and adding media
In this step we will create media folders and upload our content in them.
Media folders contain the images and videos that you will use to create your slideshow in the next step. You can have as many folders as you need and a fantastic way to organize them would be to create folders based on a certain campaign/event/promotion, that way you can keep track of your media items.
Creating the media folder
On the left panel, click on "Media".
On the top right, click on "Create New Folder"
Give your folder a name and then select the site you want this folder to apply to. Note that site selection only applies for customers that have more than one venue, if you only have one venue, select it from the list.
Click on "Create Folder" at the bottom.
Uploading content to the folder
Next read through the terms & conditions at the top and click on the checkbox to accept the terms and conditions.
Click on the Cloud & Arrow icon to open a folder selection window.
Go to the folder where your images & videos are and select the ones you want to upload to this media folder.
Click on Open to confirm your selection.
You should see the videos and images that you've uploaded.
Click on the "Start Upload" button to begin uploading your content.
This might take a few minutes, please DO NOT close the window or navigate away from the page until the upload is finished.
The upload is done when the "View Media" button appears on the bottom right corner. You can click on the "View Media" button to see everything that was uploaded to the folder.
The video below will guide you visually on following the steps mentioned above:
Creating & Managing Slideshows
You will need to have at least one media folder before you can create a slideshow.
In this section we will look at creating a slideshow from the media folder we created in the previous step. Slideshows are what ultimately will display on your screens. You can add media from different media folders to your slideshow.
Creating the slideshow
In the sidepanel to the left, click on "Slideshows".
In the top right corner, click on "Create New Slide Show"
Then, give your slideshow a name and an optional description and choose your site.
Adding images & videos to your slideshow
You will see the screen divided into three areas: Preview, Slide Show and Media Files.
Under Media Files at the bottom left you will see all the media folders that you've created. If you click on any one of them it will show you the content inside of it.
Click and drag the images and videos you want to the top middle of the screen under the "Slide Show" section and then release the mouse.
Repeat this until you have all the images you need in your slideshow.
Once you are happy with your slideshow, click on "Save Changes" at the top right to save your changes.
Editing & Managing Slideshows
when you hover over an image or video you can delete it from your slideshow by pressing the X on the image. This does not delete it from your media folder however.
At the bottom of each image you can control the amount of time you want to have it displayed as well.
The video below will guide you visually on following the steps mentioned above:
Publishing your slideshow to a screen
NOTE: You will need at least one slideshow to follow this step.
So now that you created your media folders and created a slideshow with the content in your media folders, it's time to publish the slideshow so that it will actually display on your TV screen.
Publish your slideshow
In the side bar on the left, click on "Screens".
A list of screens will show depending on your subscription type.
Please note that you would not have the ability to create any new screens as they are created for you during signup.
On the screen you want to have the slideshow displayed, click the "Edit" button.
It is recommended to leave the default settings as is.
The section we are looking for is "Slide Show".
Click on the dropdown menu under "Slide Show" and choose your newly created slideshow.
Scroll down and click on "Update Screen" to save your changes.
You can click on "Preview" to see what it would look like.
Your slideshow should now display on your TV screen.
