Programming the VHP4 Pager
Your Capcode(s):
TO SET THE CAPCODES:
On the front of the pager there are two buttons: MODE and PWR.
- Take out the battery.
- Press the MODE button and at the same time, while holding in the MODE button on the pager, put back the battery.
- Cap 1 will appear on the screen. You can leave the MODE button at this time.
- Press PWR button once to enter cap 1.
- Use the PWR button to change the number digits to match the capcodes as given above and press the MODE button to move to the next number.
- To save the setting: Press the MODE button until the pager shows cap 1 again.
- Press and hold the MODE button in until the pager switches off and back on automatically. The setting is now saved.
- If you have more than one capcode that you must program on the same pager, repeat the steps above. You will then start with cap 2 instead of one and if you have another capcode, that will be programmed on cap 3.
- Take out the battery.
- Press the PWR Buttons and at the same time put back the battery.
- Slot will appear on the screen.
- The setting should be set to 'slot off'. If not, use the PWR button to change it to 'slot off'.
- Move with MODE to the next setting: Vib on. Choose this if you want to set the pager automatically to vibration.
- Move to Can on.
- Move to Can MSG: (message) and select with PWR.
- You will see C1 > move with mode: change the letters to the desired option. (Remember that C1 is the call option, C2 is option 1 and C3 is option 2 on the button)
- Change C2 and C3 the same way.
- Save the settings by holding the MODE button in until the pager switches off and on automatically.
TO SET THE ALERT OPTIONS:
- With the pager switched on, press MODE until 'delete' appears on the screen.
- Move with MODE button > delete > delete all > escape > Chirp > beep > vib Beep > Vib low > vib high > time set. To select any of the mentioned options press PWR and the option is saved.
TO SET THE VIBRATION OPTION:
- Take out the battery.
- Hold down the PWR button on the pager and while holding it in, put the battery back.
- After a few seconds it will show SLOT OF on the pager.
- At this point you can release the PWR button.
- Press the MODE button once and it should display Vib on the pager.
- Make sure it says Vib ON if you want vibration on for the pager.
- If it shows OFF, press the PWR button once to change it to ON.
Once done, press and hold the MODE button until the pager switches off. Let go as soon as the pager switches off.
